Anne Woody Pitt
As a child growing up in Virginia, Anne was always fascinated
by the shapes and forms created by nature. Her love of natural
art led her to Virginia Commonwealth University where she
found a way to express herself through jewelry design and
fabrication. Upon receiving a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degreee,
Anne embarked on a career as a bench jeweler learning all
that she could from the simplest chain repairs to the most
complicated repairs and stone setting. Not stopping with
just the B.F.A. Anne continued her education in various
surface embellishment techniques along with construction
techniques at Penland School of Crafts through East Tennessee
State University. For the last twenty years Anne has created
and designed jewelry in Richmond, with her work being shown
in various galleries and jewelry stores. She also has won
The William F. Kayhoe Memorial award for best in metals
through the Richmond Hand Work Shop Craft Fair.
